Honeymoon
Noble Tuscany for precious moments surrounded by rolling hills adn vineyards
The Chianti region is the beautiful area located between Florence and Siena.
A flowing succession of hills whose landscape changes from one moment to the next, into downward-sloping olive groves and extensive grapevines. Here, nature is rich and docile, and incredibly relaxing.
For this reason, the Chianti region is considered a wonderful honeymoon destination. Perfectly preserved medieval villages, castles, villas, ancient windmills, towers, romantic farms and fortified villages - here everything is steeped in history.
An event not to be missed is the medieval festival “Monteriggioni di torri si corona” which takes place each year in mid July. On this occasion, all the locals dress up in medieval costumes, each one interpreting a specific character: the farmer, the merchant, the soldier, the crossbowman, and even the plague-stricken, who go around the village begging while the priests continue rewriting their manuscripts. Storytellers, court jesters, musicians and acrobats brighten up the celebration, which ends with a sumptuous banquet offering a rare, antique menu. Strictly candlelight only – it is, after all, the 1200s!
